Directions For Arrival

Warning- We can be hard to find! All programs are not offered at all sites. Be sure to select the directions to the correct site listed below.

Sleepy Hollow

Kingsland Point Park, Kathryn Davis Riverwalk Center, Sleepy Hollow, NY

From the North (Northern Westchester, Putnam)
Head south on Route 9 into Sleepy Hollow. At the intersection opposite the Old Dutch Church, make a right (towards the Hudson River) onto Pierson Avenue. This becomes Bellwood Avenue, continue to Palmer Avenue and turn left onto Palmer Avenue. Kingsland Point Park will be at the end of Palmer Avenue. Make a left into Kingsland Point Park.

From the South (NYC and Southern Westchester)
Head south on Major Deegan Expressway or Saw Mill River Parkway to the New York State Thruway (North) to Exit 9 (Tarrytown – last exit before bridge). At the end of the exit ramp, go left at the light. Continue to the next traffic light and make a right onto Route 9 north to Sleepy Hollow. Make a left (towards the Hudson River) onto Pierson Avenue. This becomes Bellwood Avenue, continue to Palmer Avenue and turn left onto Palmer Avenue. Kingsland Point Park will be at the end of Palmer Avenue. Make a left into Kingsland Point Park.

From the East (Connecticut, Portchester, Rye and points East)
Route 287 West to the New York State Thruway North. After the highway merges go to exit 9, the last exit before the bridge. At the end of the exit ramp, take a left at the light. Continue to the next traffic light and make a right onto Route 9 north to Sleepy Hollow. Make a left (towards the Hudson River) onto Pierson Avenue. This becomes Bellwood Avenue, continue to Palmer Avenue and turn left onto Palmer Avenue. Kingsland Point Park will be at the end of Palmer Avenue. Make a left into Kingsland Point Park.

From the West (Rockland County and points west)
Go over the Tappan Zee Bridge and get off the first exit after the toll. At the end of the ramp, (traffic light) make a right onto Route 9 north to Sleepy Hollow. Make a left (towards the Hudson River) onto Pierson Avenue. This becomes Bellwood Avenue, continue to Palmer Avenue and turn left onto Palmer Avenue. Kingsland Point Park will be at the end of Palmer Avenue. Make a left into Kingsland Point Park.

Metro North Hudson Line to the Philipse Manor Station, exit the station and walk south along Riverside Drive, make a right to cross over the tracks, then a left to enter Kingsland Point Park. Continue along the driveway, passing a parking booth. You will soon see a large tan colored building on your left side. This is the Kathryn W. Davis Riverwalk Center.

Croton Point Park

Croton Point Park, 1 Croton Point Ave., Croton On Hudson, NY

From Route 9, head west and follow signs for Croton Point Park. You will cross a long bridge over the railroad shop. Once on the other side, stay on that road for about a half a mile — do not turn until you have arrived at the entrance to the park.

After passing the entrance booth, immediately make a right on to the small side road just past the Main Office. Then make a left, through the opening in the wooden barrier, and park on the grass, along the fence. Our location is close by, on the beach — look for our flags and storage containers.

From the North
New York State Thruway [1—87] (South) over Tappan Zee Bridge to Exit (Tarrytown). Proceed North on Route 9 for approximately 10 miles and exit at Croton Point Avenue, turn left at end of ramp; turn left at light; Park entrance straight ahead.

From the South (Yonkers and points South)
New York State Thruway [North] to Exit 9, (Tarrytown). Proceed North on Route 9 for approximately 10 miles and exit at Croton Point Avenue turn left at end of ramp; turn left at light; Park entrance straight ahead.

From the East (Port Chester and points East)
Merritt Parkway (South) or New England Thruway (South) to 1-287 [West to the New York State Thruway [North] to Exit 9 (Tarrytown). Proceed North on Route 9 for approximately 10 miles and exit at Croton Point Avenue, turn left at end of ramp; turn left at light; Park entrance straight ahead.

From the West (Rockland County and points West)
New York State Thruway to Exit 9 (Tarrytown). Proceed North on Route 9 for approximately 10 miles and exit at Croton Point Avenue, turn left at end of ramp; turn left at light; Park entrance straight ahead.

Metro North Hudson Line to Croton Harmon Station; exit the station into the parking lot, make a left out of the parking lot, make a left into Croton Point Park (over the railroad tracks). Approximately a 20 minute walk.

Tarrytown Lakes

Tarrytown Lakes Park, Neperan Road, Tarrytown, NY

From Saw Mill Parkway South
Take Exit 23 (Eastview) and make a right. Park and Ride Parking lot is ¼ block on your right (park there). Walk across the street and toward the old pumphouse (the old stone pump house is across from Park and Ride). Walk to the left of the stone pumphouse, past a steel gate and up a path that leads to the lake. We are about 50 yards up the path.

From Saw Mill Parkway North
Take Exit 23 (Eastview) and make a left under parkway. Park and Ride Parking lot is ¼ block on your right (park there). Walk across the street and toward the old pumphouse (the old stone pump house is across from Park and Ride). Walk to the left of the stone pumphouse, past a steel gate and up a path that leads to the lake. We are about 50 yards up the path.

Rye Town Beach

Rye Town Park 95 Dearborn Avenue, Rye, NY

From I-95 N or S

Take Exit 19 for Playland Parkway. Follow Playland Parkway east until it ends at Forest Avenue. Make a right turn on to Forest Ave. and drive roughly a half-mile south. Make a left turn on to Dearborn Ave. The entrance to the Rye Town Park & Beach parking lot will be on your left – park staff may direct you to use the turnaround, so please follow their instructions and let them know that you are there to paddle with Hudson River Recreation!

Croton River

18 Veterans Plaza, Croton on Hudson, NY

From Route 9 N or 9A N
Routes 9 and 9A Northbound merge into a single highway. Take the first exit after this merger – signs will indicate Croton Point Avenue. Make a left turn off of the exit ramp and head west on Croton Point Ave for a few hundred feet. Then, make a left at the second traffic light, following signs for Veterans Plaza and Croton-Harmon Train Station parking. Make sure to pay for parking at the automated kiosks – there will be signs indicating the location of these kiosks. Once paid, get back in the car and head all the way south to Parking Section G, adjacent to a large utility barn. Park in Section G and walk around the barn to find our location.

From Route 9 S
Take the exit for Croton Point Ave. Make a right off of the exit ramp, followed immediately by a left onto Veterans Plaza, into the Croton-Harmon Train Station parking lot. Make sure to pay for parking at the automated kiosks – there will be signs indicating the location of these kiosks. Once paid, get back in the car and head all the way south to Parking Section G, adjacent to a large utility barn. Park in Section G and walk around the barn to find our location.

Take the Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line to Croton-Harmon Station. After disembarking and exiting the platform, walk south (to your right-hand side) for about 5 minutes along the main road of the parking lot until you reach our location.
