The Croton River Tour is a great way to enjoy kayaking in a serene and protected environment. After your basic kayak instruction and safety talk, we’ll head out on the water. Depending on the weather and tides we will paddle up the Croton River, which is full of wildlife such as osprey, hawks and herons.
At high tide times, the tour runs right along the historic Van Cortlandt Manor, a pre-revolutionary estate, and continues northeast within a unique area of natural beauty. At low tide times, your guide will take you under the train trestle into Croton Bay. After paddling to Croton Point, you’ll have the chance to take in the beautiful views of the Hudson and even catch a glimpse of the Tappan Zee Bridge!
